I’ve been doing SLES for almost two years now. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt doing the work but overtime I have enjoyed making friends and developing my confidence through SLES. Now I’m building the skills to train volunteers and other SLES people. I gained more confidence in social skills allowing me to advance to a more senior position on the team. This means that I now coordinate our food relief delivery days and supervise volunteers. Because of my confidence and knowledge, I’m often assumed to be a staff member. Together2 has supported me to obtain certificates in skills I wanted to develop EG first aid. I would recommend together programs to anyone wanting to build their employment skills.
